Description:
This 1960 Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone is truly a sight to behold. There is certainly a lot of legacy and mystique behind the Mark VI saxophones, but we can say with confidence that this one truly lives up to the hype. The Mark VI originally debuted in 1954 and was produced until 1975. The Mark VI was played by countless saxophone legends, including Jimmy Heath, Sonny Rollins, John Coltraine, and many more. This specific sax is estimated to have been made in 1960, and has a serial number of 85900, making it much rarer and more sought after by players for its notably “darker” and jazzier tone.
This sax has undergone a complete mechanical restoration through our repair shop, and is performance-ready right off the wall. We have also outfitted this sax with a brand-new set of Chocolate Roo pads and domed resonators. If you are looking for a truly vintage horn that plays just like a brand new one, this is the horn for you!
